Binghamton University, State University of New York, Department of Anthropology, seeks a Social/Cultural Anthropologist for a tenure track Assistant Professor appointment effective September 2012.
The Department seeks to strengthen its expertise in one or more of the following areas : supranational organizations, transnational social/political movements and/or new global networks.

The successful candidate will contribute to teaching core courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels, in addition to offering courses specific to his/her research interests.
Requirements :
Applicants should have a PhD in hand, demonstrated teaching excellence, an active research agenda, and refereed scholarly publications.
Candidates should have research expertise in one or more of the following : social justice, human rights, war and peace, international health, indigenous movements, science and technology studies, political ecology, governance, citizenship, border studies, and/or the political economy of transnationalism. Geographical area is open.
